lyrics
Alchemy of ceaseless destruction
Empires fading into oblivion
Eccentric monarch delusion of grandeur
Plague-vomiting creation
Sleeping madness dormant beast
Lurking terror death cleansed feast
Black shadows of a merciless disease
Dancing through endless conspiracies
Contorted limbs malformed bodies
Fictitious monsters form our enemies
The wings of death cloak the dawn
Plague-shaped sword of demise
Centurions and thieves
Kings and murderers
Marching as one into death
Tramps and warriors
Chaplains and children
Marching as one into death
Invincible black death
The world set ablaze
Carried by darkness in absence of light
Blackest vacuum all-devouring might
Horror thrives as lives are smothered
Spiraling staircase into the starless night

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
Epic full-length debut is a superbly crafted, black metal LP blending choirs, strings, wailing guitars, and soaring vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 21, 2015

The cover painting (Udslidt by H A Brendekilde, if anyone is interested) and the music is in perfect alignment. So much sorrow, so much despair... Right from the start I can feel my soul wither away with each riff. Still, towards the end of the record I can catch little glimpses of hope in the melodies. A beautiful journey in the bleak reality of existence. vilmosomedve
